Within this document, you will find the process of creating a new item to Point of Sale.

  1. To add a POS Item, follow these steps:

    1. Hover over the Cogwheel icon.

    2. Then, hover over POS.

    3. Click on “Items.”

  2. Click the “+” icon to create a new item.

  3. Type in a name for the item and click "Save."

  4. It will then direct you to a screen to add additional information about the item. Under the General tab you will have the following fields:

    1. If your item has a barcode, you can input it into the Barcode box. Alternatively, you can generate a barcode by clicking on the Lightning Icon. (Note: Barcodes are optional)

    2. Optionally, enter a description of the item.

    3. To manage inventory, click “Stock Control” and enter the current inventory count in the “Stock” box.

    4. You can specify the cost in the Cost box if needed.

    5. Enter the selling price in the Price box.

    6. If required, select "Dynamic Price" to allow modification of the item's price at the time of purchase.

    7. If you have a GL code for this item, you can link it.

    8. Choose the Category, which functions as a folder on the POS screen.

    9. Select the appropriate tax code that applies to this item.

    10. Choose the vendor from whom you purchase the product.

    11. Select any applicable options.

    12. Assign the item to the appropriate menus on which you want it to appear (if applicable).

  5. Within the Colors tab you can customize the color of the item background color and the text color.

  6. Under the Variations tab, you are able to create another level of customization. For example, if you have a drink item with different flavors, you would add the flavor variations here.

  7. Lastly, under the Advanced tab you have the option to add the following:

    1. SKU

    2. FLC

    3. Casemark

    4. Preparable Overrides

  8. Select “Save” once completed.
