To refund a payment, you'll need to do the following:
in the reservation that has an overpayment, click on the Transactions tab along the left side.
Find the transaction that you want to refund. You'll want to try and select a payment that can refund the entire amount, if possible.
On the right side of the payment line, there's a red circular arrow (See image in Step 2, refund button is in the box on the right side). Click it. If you do not see this, your permission profile does not have the needed permissions to perform a refund, and should contact your Staylist Administrator.
In the box that pops up, the negative amount needing to be refunded should automatically populate into the box. You can also change the amount being refunded by entering in a new amount, but this amount cannot exceed the amount shown as available for refund.
If refunding to a different destination, such as a Gift Card, you'll want to make this selection in the dropdown on the right side of the refund box.
If everything looks good, complete the refund!
